About Arjan Van Dal
'The vibrant colours of ancient Chinese porcelain are my inspiration. The colours are manually worked into the clay body. I work with a variety of hues, from electric pink, deep blue or a classic pale celadon green.'
'Every piece is thrown on the potter's wheel. Subtle details uncover the maker's mark, like the throwing lines on the inside or turning lines on bottom of the pot. My main focus is on producing work that through simplicity of form and austere handling of material communicates honesty with a refined touch.'
Arjan Van Dal was born in 1974 in the Netherlands. He graduated with a MSc in Technology from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2001 and then completed a MA in Applied Ethics from KU Leuven, Belgium in 2002. In 2014 he set up studio Arjan Van Dal in London. His work has been featured in exhibitions across the UK and recently in Hong Kong and China.

Kirsty Adam’s work is both functional and holds aesthetic meaning, retaining the spontaneity and delicacy intrinsic to making on the potters’ wheel. A Japanese comb tool is used to create and enhance the throwing lines. Her Icelandic collection is the culmination of a research trip to Iceland to express the ‘otherworldliness’ of the landscape.
Kirsty is an award-winning ceramicist currently working from her studio in Newcastle upon Tyne. She originally trained at Brighton Art College and then on the potters’ wheel in Japan. She has developed a personal approach to throwing on the wheel using porcelain clay, to produce unique pieces for the home.
