About Carsten Nilsson
Carsten Nilsson is an award-winning Swedish woodcarver. In his intricate mirror frames forms of nature are mixed together with the animal world and the artist's own imagination to create unique compositions, all with a basis in classic wood carvings.
 
Trained in 18th century sculpture and traditional carpentry, Carsten primarily focuses on ornamental carving and decoration in wood. His craft demands skills in shaping objects and a deep understanding of his material.
 
Over the past 24 years Carsten has honed a very distinctive style, in both his own expression and technique, and a strong following waiting on his next pieces.
 
In 2024, he was the recipient of the Craft Person of the Year Award by Stockholm Craft Week.
