One of those pieces that immediately strikes you and that you love even more the more you look: 'Flood of Cosmic Rays' by Oliver Thame created via a self-developed, multi-layered process of manipulating cloth.
'Through extensive experimentation I seek processes that allow a level of freedom and chance. My works aim to express the synergy between all natural forms, how nature's laws craft matter into an irrefutable language on both the micro and macro level. Most notably expressed in this series by the formulated tension within the cloth, leading to uninhibited folds and creases, manifesting intricate patterns and disrupting the coloured rings to create 'Metaphysical Hieroglyphs'.
Oliver is a Textile Artist based in London. With an academic background in Textiles, he completed the MA Textiles at Central Saint Martins in London in 2017.
This piece and more by Oliver will be updating on to our website as part of our online Winter Exhibition this Thursday, 18th Nov, at 7pm.
