Every angle is different with Regina Heinz’s wall panels. Light seems to be fascinated by this as shadows appear and fall over their undulating surfaces, often found glistening off small touches of metallic gold. And you can’t help feel that the artist herself shares this fascination with this form she has created. Soft colours wash over their flowing surfaces, often punctuated by strong graphic lines. Each one appears to explore their form further and further, straight lines navigating across their many slopes. These single panels stand apart although I often enjoy hanging them together, each different pairing opens up a different dialogue - bringing you back again to look, who knows how many times now. . - View Regina Heinz’s collection in the exhibition ‘& The Sky Was Purple’ (7th Feb - 1st March)

Kirsty Adam’s work is both functional and holds aesthetic meaning, retaining the spontaneity and delicacy intrinsic to making on the potters’ wheel. A Japanese comb tool is used to create and enhance the throwing lines. Her Icelandic collection is the culmination of a research trip to Iceland to express the ‘otherworldliness’ of the landscape.
Kirsty is an award-winning ceramicist currently working from her studio in Newcastle upon Tyne. She originally trained at Brighton Art College and then on the potters’ wheel in Japan. She has developed a personal approach to throwing on the wheel using porcelain clay, to produce unique pieces for the home.
